CVPA Prospective Member FAQ

What is the cost of membership in the first year?

The first year includes a one-time/non-transferable initiation fee of $2,075 and annual dues of $975.

What are the annual dues after the first year?

Dues are $975 per year for Years 2–5.

Starting in Year 6, dues revert to the standard rate in effect at that time, as determined by a member vote each April.

For reference, long-term members currently pay $775/year, which is lower because they contributed to a prior special assessment. Historically, dues have increased only modestly—about $75 total over the past four years.

Are there any other fees beyond the initiation and annual dues?

No additional fees are anticipated. Dues cover insurance, property taxes, and general pool supplies.

Members help maintain the pool by pitching in with seasonal clean-up tasks and rotating responsibilities for pool chemical checks and cleanliness. If you prefer not to volunteer, you can opt out for a $250 annual fee due at the beginning of the season.

In the next 3–5 years, CVPA may consider renovations to the deck, pool area, or plumbing. These projects would likely be funded by a mix of special assessment and treasury funds, subject to Board and member approval per CVPA bylaws.

How many member families does CVPA have? Is there a limit?

As of May 3, 2025, Crestview Pool Association has a 30-member cap to preserve the relaxed, neighborhood feel of the pool. We currently have 22 member households, which means there is room for a few more families to join before we reach capacity.

What happens if we want to leave CVPA?

Just notify the Board before May 1st, and you will not be responsible for future dues.

There’s no need to sell your membership. The initiation fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

What is the atmosphere like at CVPA?

CVPA is a relaxed, neighborhood pool—no swim team, no structured swim programs, and rarely crowded.

Members describe it as a casual, backyard-style pool where neighbors run into friendly faces and kids enjoy the deep end and diving board.

What’s the pool temperature like?

The pool is typically heated to 80–85°F, depending on the time of year and weather. It’s warm enough for comfortable swimming throughout the core swim season.

When does the pool open this season?

The pool is now open — it opened on May 10th and can be used during daylight hours.

Can I bring a guest?

Yes! Members are welcome to bring guests, as long as each guest signs our liability waiver. Guests under 18 will need a parent or guardian’s signature before swimming.

Can we schedule a tour of the pool?

Yes! We’re currently offering private tours while our Open House is on pause due to weather.
